A method statement is a control document that has been prepared after
a risk assessment has been carried out and prior to work commencing
on a particular work assignment. It ensures that all concerned are
aware of the hazards associated with the work and the safety precautions
to be taken.
On a construction site, a method statement is site specific. It is
used on site for a particular activity and includes details of the
boundaries, materials, plant requirements and temporary works designs.
It will also contain information concerning the order and method of
construction with reference to work procedures.
